Rapid City NPUCTS #2

So we drive up Friday night check into our motel and then want to go walk the fields. So we drive to the place where it is suppose to be and see nothing but Grass. So were thinking wtf is going on did they cancel it or what etc. Lucky for me I had Bruce’s cell# and we gave him a call and he told us how to get to the new location and then it’s all good. By the way it was awesome driving through those hills. So we walk the fields for about two hours and the whole time im thinking how to play that snake on field 2 and didn’t know what to think on field 1 but I gathered as much info as I could and we went from there. The next day things started off ok playing all the Amateur teams first only losing to Krucial Conflict. And we also lost to God Squad with us just trying to see if we could get to the snake off the break needless to say I think they shot 3 of us off the break oh well it was worth a try because we had nothing to lose already in the finals. But the finals were pretty good we put all the bad mouthing each other in a bag until the next tournament and focused on winning this one. We knew that it was going to be tight Sepsis and KK were our biggest concerns. We played Demo first beating them, and then Sepsis who I knew were going to go for the flag off the break. So that only meant one thing so did I also. I got to the bunker and well lets just say I didn’t stop running until I had that flag in my hands and doing so I hit the bunker so hard that I knocked Seth over and we had a lot of fun trying to shot each other through the cracks but we went on to win this game also. Then it all came down to beating KK we knew that we needed a flag pull and 3 eliminations to walk away in first so once again I had to get that flag. But this time it didn’t come so easy when I pulled on the flag I seemed to have caught me a KK player and we were basically playing tug of war for about a min at least when Al came to my rescue crawling in the snake and getting the frag and me the flag. The game ended just before we could hang the flag but it didn’t matter for we had enough points to beat the rest. Great job Plague on running the tourney but Bridgewater still beat you by like 3 hours. Later

Bridgewater NPUCTS #1

First off let me say that Dye ATC cleats are not waterproof as I found out. The day started off kind of bad for us we found ourselves actually hurrying to get stuff together before our first game. We were basically setting up stuff yet when the captains meeting was going on. I have to say I was surprised to see that these tourneys were finally being turned around. Even though it was raining we still did pretty good. Paint was going all over the place some more then others but we still seemed to do pretty good in the prelims losing zero games going into the Finals with high confidence. But we were took off guard as Krucial Conflict surprised us with a complete turn around in the finals beating us. Then we played Plague on the Diamond field with a really good game between them and us. They got the flag pull before us and that pretty much gave them the win we shot all of their players but time ran out before we could hang the flag giving Plague the first place victory and Krucial the runners up. Great work by both teams it’s going to be a great series this year. And a great job done keeping them games on schedule.

Team Melee

Team Melee consists of  5 players on our Roster. Kyle Cook-captian, Al Bauer Co-Captain, Justin Cook, Kenny Buhl, and Dallas Johnson. For the 2004 season we are going to be using a DM4, X-Mag, Lasoya Timmy, Dye Matrix, X-Mag. We will also be wearing 2003 Dye jerseys, Pants, Shoes, and Gloves. Most of our team is located in Yankton, SD and in Sioux Falls. Most of us have been playing for around 4 years now, and as a team this is only our second year playing. Last year we manily focused on the NPUCTS series and ended the year with 3 first place finishes, one second, and one third. We ended up taking the Novice Championship for the year. This year we are going into most of our tourneys as an Amatuer team.

Bridgewater 3-Man Series

This has always been a little series that I have wanted to play for the past two years but we just never got around to doing it until this year. We decided not to play the first out of 4 tourneys because we felt that we really didn’t need to and well we needed the practice first. And it was a good thing we didn’t play it because it rained pretty bad that day. We went into the second tourney just practicing the day before feeling really good about ourselves and swept the entire day winning every game of the day. And what im told it’s never been done before in this series so that was kind of nice to know. The third tourney however was a little rocky tying Sepsis, and then losing to Prime Suspects and Sepsis in the second half. At this point we were still in the lead even though we skipped out on the first one. The fourth and final tourney we rocked again this time losing no games but some how managed to get not one but two tied games. It was a fun little 3-man series I really enjoyed it I just wish more teams would play this series because it is a great learning experience. Also I love playing 3-man tourneys with Both Al and Justin because we just work so well with one another. We got the option for either a $1000 Dye gift certificate or $725 in cash and well those of you that know us know that we already pretty much own all that Dye makes so we took the $725. Thanks Bruce for having this series and many more to come.
